Brittany Nichole Ross and Corbin Franklin Pettiette, both of Oakwood, were married Dec. 10 at Alvin Moore Memorial Methodist Church of Oakwood.
The Rev. Eric Musil of Palestine read vows before an altar decorated with antique, silver votive candleholders, white poinsettias, and a wintry floral mix of white roses, snapdragon, hydrangeas, willow and peacock feathers in an antique, vintage urn. The altar was complete with four larger vintage lanterns to provide candlelight for the service.
Parents of the bride are Stephanie and Bobbie McLaughlin of Malakoff and parents of the groom are Dennis and Kimberly Pettiette of Oakwood.
Escorted by her grandfather, William Brown, of Athens, the bride wore a Galina Signature style, candlelight taffeta ball gown. The form-fitting taffeta bodice featured a dropped waist and all over ruching. The chapel train and skirt were filled with floral 3-D appliqués. Inside of each flower was hand-stitched pearls, sequins and rhinestones to add sparkle.
The bride carried a bouquet of hand-tied white roses and hydrangeas tied with a French knot of white European ribbon with a vintage brooch.
Attending the bride was maid of honor, Becca Brown, sister of the bride, of Athens.
Junior Bridesmaids were: Megan Crawford of Jewett, Lauryn James of Palestine and Hannah Pettiette of Oakwood.
Bridesmaids were Kylen Armstrong of Buffalo, Ashleigh Hillhouse of Athens, Rachel James of Palestine; Amanda Pettiette of Oakwood and Hillarie Unger of Palestine.
Attendants wore black strapless satin ball gowns with a pickup skirt and a coordinating sash in Malibu and a silver sash for the maid of honor.
They carried bouquets of white roses and hydrangeas with a peacock feather tied with a French knot of Malibu satin ribbon.
Flower girls were Jayden Hillhouse of Athens and Gracie Belle Pettiette of Oakwood.
Ring bearer was Colt James of Palestine.
Best man was Chad Pettiette, brother of the groom, of Oakwood.
Junior best man was Eli Wyatt Pettiette of Oakwood.
Junior Groomsmen were Lance Crawford of Jewett; Luke and Will James of Palestine.
Groomsmen were Bradley Calcote, Jeffrey James, both of Palestine; Stephen Pate , Garrett Smith both of Oakwood and Ben Speer of College Station.
Ushers were Chad McLaughlin of Malakoff and Nathan Crawford of Jewett.
Providing music were pianist Bobbie Bullock of Oakwood and soloists Liana James of Palestine, James Turner of Oakwood and Bradley Calcote of Palestine.
A reception hosted by the families of the couple was held at Harvey Women’s Club of Palestine.
House party members included Tarah Miles, friend of the bride, Amy Pettiette Castleberry, Jodi Calcote and Ginger Stewart, all cousins of the groom.
Following a wedding trip to San Antonio, the couple will reside in Oakwood. The bride is currently employed at First Baptist Church. The groom is currently employed at Union Pacific Railroad.
