DeShazo-Paul wedding

Peggy Marie DeShazo of Elkhart and Joshua Wade Paul of Palestine were married Oct. 9 at First Christian Church of Palestine.

The Rev. Bryan Hodges of Fort Worth read vows before an altar decorated with three large arrangements including hydrangeas, freesia, hypericum berries, roses, lisianthus, Bells of Ireland, carnations and willow and greens.

Parents of the bride are Kent and Maurine DeShazo of Elkhart and parents of the groom are Ronnie and Rhonda Paul of Palestine.

Grandparents of the groom are the late Bob and Betty Armour and Arlin and Irma Paul and Generie Paul.

Grandparents of the bride are the late Dr. Don and Peggy Carroll and Gerald and Veda DeShazo.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an Oleg Cassini gown draped with a satin bodice with a slightly dropped waist featuring beaded embroidered detail, a ball gown skirt with allover beaded chapel lace train.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory, satin hand-tied bouquet of stephanotis, roses, carnations and freesia.

Attending the bride was matron of honor Candice DeShazo, sister-in-law of the bride, of Cedar Park.

Bridesmaids were Kristen Greer of Cleburne; Laura Colwell of Tomball; Nikki Chaffin of Palestine and Sarah Barnett of Canton.

Attendants wore Alfred Angelo, clover green, chiffon and satin A-line dresses with a halter neckline.

They carried bouquets of ivory, satin hand-tied bouquets of mini-green hydrangeas, roses and carnations.

Flower girls were Lynsie Walding of Palestine and Kyli Davis of Elkhart.

Ring bearer was Ethan DeShazo of Cedar Park.

Best man was Cody Johnson, best friend of the groom, of College Station.

Groomsmen were: Jerad Paul of Palestine; Bud Walding of Palestine; Chad Holliday of Tyler and Matt Dowdy of Palestine.

Ushers were Trey Farrow of College Station and Tyler Farrow of Elkhart.

Providing music was organist Jodi Grammer of Palestine and soloist Kelly Neuberger of Ft. Worth.

A reception hosted by the parents of the bride was held at the Museum for East Texas Culture.

House party members included Kelly Neuberger, Amy Robinson and Kristen Norris, all friends of the bride.

The couple will reside in Palestine. The bride is a 2009 graduate of Sam Houston State University. The groom is a 2010 graduate of Sam Houston State University.
