Terrie Lynne Gardner and Richard Gene Owens were married at 1 p.m. Feb. 4. Retired District Court Judge John Toma officiated the double ring ceremony at the Knights of Columbus in Santa Fe, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of the late John R. Gardner Sr. of Galveston and Shirley Ueckert of Eagle Point, Ore.
The groom is the son of Annie Bell Owens and the late Will Richard Owens of Palestine.
LeaAnn Rivers performed matron of honor duties and Lisa Gardner, the bride’s daughter, served as bridesmaid.
The best man was Jimmy Rivers and the groom’s son, Shane Owens, was his groomsman.
The usher was Matthew Timm, future son-in-law to the couple. Grandson Kayden Timm was the ring bearer.
The bride selected an Alfred Angelo wedding ensemble. The re-embroidered lace gown was adorned with pearl and crystal beading, featuring a strapless neckline and dropped waist. The bride’s princess line dress showcased by a high-low hemline. Complimenting her strapless wedding dress, the bride chose a long sleeve lace bolero jacket embellished by crystal beading and sequins.
The bride is a graduate of Hitchcock High School and recently retired from the University of Texas Medical Branch and Renzenberger, Inc., railroad crew transportation in Galveston.
The groom is a graduate of Westwood High School. After 39 years of service, he retired from the Galveston station of BNSF Railroad in September of 2011.
The couple will make their home in Palestine.
