PALESTINE —
Shereece Janay Donnell and Joshua Jeremiah Jogie, both of Palestine, were married July 14 at New Fellowship Christian Church in Palestine.
The Rev. Johnathan Strange of Palestine read vows before an altar decorated with greenery, burgundy and white roses, adorned with burgundy and white satin streamers.
Parents of the bride are the late Clarence Donnell and Marilyn Smith of Palestine and parents of the groom are Demetries C. Whitaker of Mount Enterprise and Vernon P. Jogie of Houston.
Escorted by Andrew Donnell, uncle of the bride, of Dallas, the bride wore a formal ivory satin gown with French lace and pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of ivory carnations and roses with burgundy streamers.
Attending the bride was Kimberly Spurlock, cousin of the bride, of Palestine; and Dana Whitehead also of Palestine.
Attendants wore tea-length burgundy satin gowns. They carried bouquets of one long stem lily with burgundy streamers.
Flower girl was J’Nay McMorris of Palestine.
Ring bearer was De’Undre Simpson of Palestine.
Best man was Vernon A. Jogie, brother of the groom, of Palestine.
Groomsman was Maurice Lanclos of Palestine.
Ushers were Hamath L. Cook of Dallas and Michael Cook, Jr. of Houston.
Providing music was pianist Charlotte F. Cook of Palestine and soloist Tamey Cook of Houston.
A reception hosted by the family of the bride and groom was held at the home of Virginia Cook.
The couple will reside in Palestine. The bride is a graduate of Palestine High School and is employed at Cartmell Nursing Home for the Aged as a nutrition healthcare assistant. The groom is a graduate of Palestine High School and is employed by the City of Palestine as a utility backhoe operator.
