12-30 Eggleston-Whitfield wedding

Jennifer Eggleston of Palestine and Todd Whitfield of Neches were married Dec. 15 at The Woods at Jacksonville of Jacksonville.

Ben Alexander, cousin of the bride, of Flint read vows underneath wrought iron chandeliers and before three arched windows overlooking the golf course. The center window was adorned with white Christmas lights. Guests viewed the ceremony from tables dressed with chocolate brown linens and adorned by candlelight from hurricane vases with copper ribbon accents.

Parents of the bride are Gary and Betsy Smith of Palestine, and parents of the groom are Jerry and Jean Whitfield of Neches.

Grandmother of the bride is Cleo Watts of Tennessee Colony and grandmother of the groom is Mildred Whitfield of Neches.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a fitted ivory gown by Galina. The gown featured a beaded lace overlay and an ivory charmeuse sash, which adorned the bride’s waist. The gown also featured a trumpet hemline and small train. The bride wore a single layer, ivory fingertip-length veil.

The bride carried a bouquet of mixed flowers in autumn inspired colors, tied with ivory ribbon and adorned with an antique broach.

Attending the bride was matron of honor Breanne Alder, sister of the bride, of Palestine and maid of honor was Vanessa Arterberry, friend of the bride of Lawton, Okla.

Bridesmaids were Michelle Merritt of College Station, Monica Cole and Christina McClendon, both of Palestine, and Becca Davis of Houston, all friends of the bride.

Attendants wore coordinating dresses of attendants’ choice in chocolate brown taffeta with copper accents.

They carried bouquets of copper colored flowers accented with gold and pearl inserts, tied with copper ribbon.

Flower girl was Savannah Alder, niece of the bride, of Palestine.

Ring bearer was Corban Whitfield, cousin of the groom, of Neches.

Best man was T.J. Whitfield, brother of the groom, of Wichita, Kan.

Groomsmen were Jeff Whitfield, cousin of the groom, of Neches; Toby Whitfield, brother of the groom, of Bullard; Chase Alder, brother-in-law of the bride, of Palestine; Troy Whitfield, brother of the groom, of Moss Point, Miss.; and Alex Smith, brother of the bride, of Palestine.

Groomsmen also served as ushers.

Providing music was soloist Alex Smith, brother of the bride, of Palestine.

Reception music and karaoke was Family Traditions of Palestine.

A reception hosted by the bride and groom was held in the Ballroom of The Woods of Jacksonville.

Guests enjoyed a Mexican fiesta dinner followed by a night of singing and dancing.

Following a wedding trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple will reside in Frankston.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Texas A & M University Mays Business School and a 2007 graduate of University of Texas in Tyler College of Nursing. She is a registered nurse at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

The groom is receiving manager at Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Tucker.
