LIFE BEHIND THE PINE CURTAIN: Pig in the creek

EDITOR’S NOTE:  Behind the Pine Curtains is a series of anecdotes collected and edited by Herald-Press Publisher Gary Connor.

Allow me to introduce a new word into your vocabulary. While it may not appear (yet) in the Webster Dictionary, it is written with great clarity in the East Texas Dictionary of Political Terms.

Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc’-ra-cy) - a system of national government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

“’Nuff said,” as we East Texans often say.

Here’s a thought before election day.  It’s an old East Texas expression. If you don’t understand its implication regarding the November 6, General Election, you are most likely part of the problem.

“You won’t get the water in the creek to clear up until you get the pigs out of the creek.”

Come election day, vote your gut. Vote your heart. Vote your pocketbook. And, vote your common sense. But, for heaven’s sake please vote Tuesday, November 6.

One final thought prior to election day: “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for a few good men to do nothing.” Edmund Burke 1729-1797.

God bless Texas. God bless America.
