The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever in the history of the United States.
Meanwhile, the National Forest Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us on countless signs placed in our national parks, "Please Do Not Feed the Animals.” Their stated reason for the policy is because the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.

By now everyone has heard of Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play major league baseball. He is in all the history textbooks, along with a host of other “firsts,” which is, after all, history-making.
