Services for Dorothy M. Hartt, 91, of Palestine were at 1 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Palestine with the Rev. Scott Dornbush and Dan Manuel officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Park under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
Mrs. Hartt died Wednesday at The Courtyards Assisted Living in Granbury.
She was born July 18, 1916 in McLennan County to Richard Spencer Marshall and Lois Anderson Marshall.
Mrs. Hartt received her Masters of Education degree from Sam Houston State University in 1951 and was initiated into Delta Kappa Gamma. She taught elementary and high school for Palestine schools for many years and retired in 1977 with 32 years of teaching experience. Mrs. Hartt was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Iris Society, Guion Music Club, Pioneer Garden Club, Anderson County Retired Teachers Association, and the National Association of Retired and Federal Employees.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick Hartt, in 1989; a son, Richard Hartt; and a brother, Richard Marshall.
Mrs. Hartt is survived by her son, Carl Hartt and wife Cindy of Granbury; a sister, Lee McMurrey of Houston; brother, James Monroe Marshall of Fort Worth; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Russ Hartt, Stephen Hartt, Bradley Hartt, Blake Hartt, Mac Hartt and Roy Stark.
