Thomas Walter Ross

Thomas Walter Ross, 71, of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 in Fairfield. Services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Capps Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Terry Reisner officiated.  Interment followed at Roselawn Cemetery in Palestine.  

Mr. Ross was born April 3, 1941 in Palestine; to parents Leslie Benjamin and May Hitt Ross.

He was a 1959 graduate of Palestine High School. From 1960 until 1967 he was employed by the Borden Dairy. From 1967 until 1969 he was employed by General Dynamics. He was a partner in the Killough & Ross Grocery and Western Wear Store from 1970 until 1990 after moving to Fairfield from Grapevine. For the next 22 years he worked for Ponte Daniel in Fairfield.  

Mr. Ross and his wife Louise were married on Feb. 4, 1987 in Groesbeck. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Ross of Cleburne and H. B. Ross of Palestine.

Pallbearers were Kalop Allen, Clyde Woods, Floyd Ross, Tommy Ross, Chris Self and Joe Joseph III. Christopher Williams was an honorary pallbearer.  

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Louise; five children, Christi Michelle Padgett of Fairfield, Floyd Nolan Ross and wife Carolyn Marie of Waxahachie, Thomas Walter Ross II and wife Rochelle Ann of Bedford, James Harlan Williams Jr. of Fairfield, and  Tammy Lynn Self and husband Chris of Fairfield; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
