Janie Lynn Allen

— Janie Lynn Allen, 55, of Palestine, Texas, passed away Dec. 30, 2012.

The funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home. The Rev. W.E. Shiflet of United Pentecostal Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at Herrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Earles Chapel Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Pallbearers at the cemetery will be Jack B. Allen III, Charles Curtis Allen, Larry Rhone, Ronnie Bynum Sr., Ronnie Bynum Jr. and Cody Allen. Honorary pallbearers include Wade Walker and Rodney Walker.

Janie was born in Palestine, Texas on Oct. 21, 1957. She was married to Jack B. Allen Jr. on Aug. 10, 1975; they were married 37 years. Janie worked full time as a mother and homemaker.

Janie is survived by her husband, Jack B. Allen Jr. of Palestine Texas; son, Jack B. Allen III and wife April of La Porte Texas, son, Charles Curtis Allen and wife Emily of Rowlett Texas, daughter, Stacey Christina Allen of Palestine, Texas; father, James Leroy Walker of Palestine, Texas; brothers, Ronnie Bynum and wife Carole of Teague, Texas, Wade Walker of Broom City, Texas, Rodney Walker of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Ethan, Dean, Kelcey, Brooklyn and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association. The family of Janie Allen wishes to thank the staff and friends of the Greenbriar Nursing Home of Palestine and East Texas Medical Center of Tyler for their care, compassion and friendship.
