Graveside services for Frances (Elrod) O’Brien, 69, of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Olive Branch Cemetery with the Rev. Craig Harris officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. O’Brien died Monday at her residence.
She was born May 21, 1943 in Fort Worth to Bennie Frank and Dorothy Ruth Ormsby Elrod.
Mrs. O’Brien was a member of the Brushy Creek United Methodist Church, and has lived in Palestine for 16 years. She previously lived in LaMarque for 33 years and worked at the LaMarque Independent School District in the registrar office for 23 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. O’Brien is survived by her husband of 53 years, Floyd R. O’Brien of Palestine; children, Carmel Alisa Villarreal, and Floyd R. O’Brien III; her brothers, Biff Elrod, Sam Roberts and Richard Roberts; seven grandchildren, Lauren, Jacob, Natalie, Julia, Brianna, Shawn and Kendal Brooke.
Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
