Calvin Lee Parker, 64, was born Sept. 5, 1948 in Palestine, Texas, and passed away Nov. 17, 2012 in Sugar Land, Texas.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Houston National Cemetery.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at Calvary Baptist Church in Palestine, where he was a lifelong member.
Calvin was preceded in death by his father, Dan Parker; and sister, Carolyn Dell Wilson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 19 years, Irene Renee Parker; his mother, Inez Parker; his daughter, Suzie Parker Mason and husband Tony; his sons, Jeff Parker and wife Aundrea, Jerry Parker and wife Jennifer; sister, Wanda Parker; brothers, Donald Parker and wife Terri, and Jimmy Parker; grandchildren, Breanne Mason, Nick Mason, Kaylee Parker, Macie Parker, David Parker, Cody Parker and Jessie Parker; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Mr. Parker served his country in the U.S. Army doing tours in Korea and Vietnam between 1967 and 1970. He enlisted again in 1980 and was discharged honorably in 1990.
The family requests that flowers not be sent to Houston.
