Services for Jack Clinton Spence, 87, of Grapeland, were at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Grapeland with Gary Taylor, Bob Thompson, and the Rev. Todd Nivens officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Spence died Saturday at his residence.
He was born Oct. 20, 1925 in Grapeland to Jack and Ruth Clinton Spence.
Mr. Spence was a member of the First Baptist Church, Grapeland. He was a rancher, cowboy and avid spur collector.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Ouida Jean Spence.
Mr. Spence is survived by his wife, Anne Spence of Grapeland; daughters, Phyllis Lively and husband Gary of Southlake, Peggy Patrick and husband Johnny of Crockett, Stephanie Spears and Stacy Skeen of Grapeland; grandchildren, Jeremy Hoch, Ryan Hoch and Julie Smoldas; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Hoch and Lauryn Hoch.
Pallbearers were Barrett Sanders, Billy Horne, Robert Hoch, Paul Huff, Gary Lovell and Johnny Patrick.
