Lavanda Martin Jackson

Lavanda Martin Jackson was born Dec. 22, 1945 in Athens, Texas, the cherished son of Amy and Edward F. Jackson.

He passed away Feb. 14, 2013 in Jacksonville, Texas at the age of 67. His home church was Judson Baptist Church in Cayuga.

Lavanda was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lester and Forest Jackson; and a sister, Ila Wofford.

He is survived by his sisters, Noella Adair and husband Jerry,  Billie Jackson, all of Cayuga; eight nephews, one niece, and many great-nieces and great-nephews who were very special to him.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at Judson Baptist Church in Cayuga with the Rev. Zeth Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Judson Cemetery in Cayuga.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home of Palestine.
