Libby Sumrall Daniels

Libby Sumrall Daniels went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2012, at the age of 84, in Dallas, Texas.

Libby was born on Feb. 17, 1928, in Amarillo, Texas, to Elizabeth Carroll Sumrall and Dr. D.D. Sumrall.

She graduated from Palestine High School in 1945 and attended East Texas Baptist College, Hardin Simmons University, and Southern Methodist University.

Along with her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her husband, E. Ed Daniels; and a sister, Wanda Sumrall Weinell.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Thomas and husband, Tack; her son, Carter Daniels and wife, Ruth Ann; and three grandsons, Teddy, Sam and Josh Daniels, all of Dallas.  

Libby is also survived by her sister, Mrs. M.O. Hanson Sr., of Midlothian; her brother, Dr. D.D. Sumrall Jr., and wife, Margaret, of Henderson, Texas; and beloved nephews, nieces and cousins.

Libby will be lovingly cherished in the memories of her family and friends. She unabashedly adored her three grandsons, who will greatly miss her consistent love and support. Her precious, sweet spirit touched numerous lives of those who came in contact with her.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 3:30 p.m., at Roselawn Park in Palestine, Texas, followed by a memorial service on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Park Cities Baptist Church in Ellis Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Clayton Dabney Foundation for Kids with Cancer, www.claytondabney.org.
