LaVonda Lee Atwood Mayer, 51, of Terrell, and formerly of Palestine, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel.
LaVonda was born Dec. 5, 1960, in Jacksonville to John and Inez Fleming Atwood. She was loved and cherished by many. LaVonda loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Mayer of Terrell; mother, Inez Davis of Terrell; daughters, Christi and husband Alvin Westley of Elkhart and Ashley Hanson of Grapeland; son, Larry Hanson Jr. of Elkhart; grandchildren, Colton Hamby and Kaitlyn Hamby, both of Elkhart, Kalei Hanson of Arlington, Lacee Wilson of Palestine; sister, Jeannie Dunnam of Palestine; and brothers, John Atwood of Palestine and Kenneth Atwood of Irving; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Atwood of Palestine, on June 14, 2009; a brother, James Atwood on Feb. 24, 1985; and a sister-in-law, Tammy Atwood of Palestine, on Feb. 24, 1985.
