Peggy June Bailey

Peggy June Bailey, 75, of Palestine, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 in Tyler. Funeral services celebrating Peggy’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Dr. Woody D. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Quinlan. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be Ken Archibald, Paul Davis, Brent Davis, Paul Carver, Josh Clark and Hack Baker.

Peggy was born in Hunt County, Texas. Her parents moved to Terrell where she was raised and attended school. She married Charles High on June 2, 1955 and they lived in Kaufman County. She later married Virgil Bailey and they made their home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She later moved back to Texas and made her home near Palestine.

Peggy was a very active lady and a lady that had her “hands in everything”. She was a hairdresser, baker, seamstress, homemaker, and worked for Brookshire’s. She also volunteered her time and did charity work for her church, served as a volunteer at the hospital, and made quilts to send overseas for the underprivileged. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Palestine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Gatha and Patsy.

She is loved and will be missed by her son, David High of Elkhart, Texas; daughter, Louann Willingham of Palestine, Texas; grandchildren, Paul, Luke, Jennifer, Rallie, Megan and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Evan, Autumn, Cortney, Kobe, Tracie, Kolbyn and Ayden.
