Services for Maria Micaela Galvan, 57, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mathias Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Galvan passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at her home.
She was born on Aug. 24, 1955, in Mexico to Porfirio and Julia Estrada.
Mrs. Galvan lived in Palestine since 1976 where she attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a very strong woman who never gave up and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Jose Galvan; daughters, Maria Sardina and husband Jose, Francisca Martinez and husband Efren, Beatris DeLuna and husband Carlos, and Alexa Galvan; son, Juan Perez and wife Norma; brothers, Alberto Estrada and Gorgonio Ordonez; sisters, Arnulfa Vega, Catlina Perez, and Ofelia Muniz; and seven grandchildren, all of Palestine.
A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8 pm. View online at www.herringtonfuneral.com.
