— Jan Dee Arthur Browning, 76, a longtime resident of the Palestine area, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 21, at  her home after a long illness.

She was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Abilene, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elva James Grisha and Jefferson Davis Arthur; and brother, Van Arthur.

Jan was a very spiritual person and longtime member of the Unity Way Church in Tyler. She was very devoted to her husband Dick of 35 years and the love they shared and the spiritual and emotional connection they had, won the admiration of all who knew them.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Louis (Dick) Browning; sister, Evelyn Maley; daughter, Christi; son-in-law, Colburn Dick; son, Larry Conaway; daughter-in-law, Jeannine; stepchildren, David Browning, Rick and Chris Browning, Andy and Sheila Browning, and Susan Browning.

Jan was also the grandmother of 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 26 at 1 p.m. at Unity Way Church, 14024 Texas Highway 155 South, Tyler, Texas, with Richard Wagner officiating.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, you will be truly missed and forever loved by all who knew you.
