Funeral services for Letha Martin, 87, of Houston, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel, 207 S. Magnolia, Palestine, Texas, with Jordan Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Maydelle. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mrs. Martin passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 in Houston.
She was born Jan. 12, 1925 in Maydelle, to Joe E. Moore and Ora Benge Moore.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Houston.
Mrs. Martin was the office manager for Berger Iron Works for 52 years. She was the Belle of Berger Iron Works and loved taking care of her “Berger Boys”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William A. “Bill” Martin, whom she married in 1944; and brothers, Joe and Gordon Moore.
Mrs. Martin is survived by a niece, Linda Beth Strawn Ranft; sister-in-law, Veda Walters Moore of Palestine; special friends, The Riganos, The Eckhardts, and The Foores; and a host of other friends, especially the employees of Berger Iron Works.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Letha’s caregivers, Gloria, Rita, Sherika, Tabatha and Dorothy.
Pallbearers will be employees of Berger Iron Works.
Condolence calls will be received one hour prior to service at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
