Services for Ruth Thomas, 81, of Elkhart will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Dean Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Thomas died Tuesday at Cartmell Home for Aged. She was born April 15, 1931 in Springfield Community to Charlie and Ovell Davis Garner.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Walston Springs Baptist Church. She was retired from Brazziel Drugs and from Walston Springs Water Supply.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Raymond Thomas, in 1997; her infant sons, Walter Raymond Thomas and Charlie Lee Thomas.
She is survived by her son, Larry Thomas and wife Terry of Elkhart; a brother, Robert Garner of Nederland; two grandchildren, Lindsay Hudson and husband Cole, and Jason Lance Thomas; great-grandchildren, Ali Thomas, Brynne Thomas, Kate Hudson, Karleigh Hudson and Kadence Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Holloway, Terry Gunnels, Gary Thomas, Charles Douthit, Tommy Gunnels and Danny Rampy.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
