Herman Marvin Smith, 73, of Sunset, Texas passed away Feb. 7, 2013 in Decatur, Texas. Herman was born Dec. 6, 1939 in Pampa, Texas to Jasper B. Smith and Gertie B. Hanner Smith.
Herman worked for Vantex Electric in Fort Worth for 29 years. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Park Springs, and was loved by many who considered him family. He always had a smile and a twinkle in his blue eyes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Lokey Smith; parents, Jasper and Gertie Smith; brothers, Chester Smith and JB Smith; stepson, JA Payne; and great-nephews, Nathan Lemond and Troy Smith.
He is survived by his fiancé, Panda Moss; sons, Brent Smith and wife Andrea, Jeff Smith and wife Melissa; daughter, Angela Smith; other children, Melissa Payne, Marty Payne, Clay Woody, Kasey Woody and husband Jeremy, Angelina (Amy) Santini and husband Mark; grandchildren, Taylor, Sayer, Noah, Audrey, Maddie, Sam, Ladye, Katy, BJ, Morgan, Erin, Kaylee, Bryton, Evan, Gracie, Drake and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Brylan, Niyah, Gavin and Dre; brother, Gerald and wife Norma; and numerous nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count.
Visitation for Mr. Smith was Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 in the chapel of Shaw’s Funeral Home. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at Central Baptist Church with Pastors Mark Autry and Paul Henderson officiating.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at Strong Memorial Park in Slocum, Texas. Arrangements entrusted to Shaw’s Funeral Home in Bowie, Texas.
