Funeral services for Elizabeth Christine Congleton, 79, of Palestine, were at 10 a.m. today at Westwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Dees officiating. Burial followed at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Congleton died Tuesday at Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born Dec. 19, 1932, to Roland and Christine Jayroe.
Mrs. Congleton lived here most of her life and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She loved to go shopping with her family and also enjoyed traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, T.W. Congleton; and a son, Chris Congleton.
Mrs. Congleton is survived by two sons, Steve Congleton and wife Mary Lou of Cedar Hill, and Tim Congleton of Palestine; one daughter, Deborah Williams and husband Anthony of Palestine; three sisters, Betty Currington and Vern Jayroe, both of Corsicana, and Kathie Benton of Perdon; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tim Congleton, Kevin Congleton, Jeremy Williams, Keith Congleton, Cole Congleton, Arron Congleton and Blake Congleton. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Williams and Ty Congleton.
