Dan Bradley

— Services for Daniel Robert Bradley, 48, of Elkhart will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Evangelistic Temple with Revs. Jason Harris and Bruce Hay officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington /Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Dan passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

He was born April 17, 1964, in Houston, Texas to Betty Bradley Untermeyer and Don Bradley.  

He graduated from CyFairHigh School in Houston and attended Texas A&M University where he played football.  Dan worked for Exxon Chemical in Houston for many years before moving to Palestine to work as Plant Superintendent at a local packing plant. When the plant closed, Dan and Gayla opened and ran the original Ranch House Restaurant for many years.  Dan was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and spending time with family. He was a Christian.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Mae Jones (Mammaw and Pappaw) and Jack and Jo Kate Bradley.

Dan is survived by his wife of 18 years and love of his life, Gayla Gray Bradley; his mother and father; one son, Brian Bradley of Elkhart and two daughters, Jill Jenkins and husband Allen of Fayetteville, N.C. and Kelli Riley and husband Travis of Tallahassee, Fla.; stepdaughter, Lindsey Vaughan and fiancée Jordan Ray of Dallas; brother, Andy Bradley and wife April of Houston; uncle, Gary Bradley and wife Lena of Bryan; many nieces, nephews, friends and family, and his beloved dog, Jodie.

Pallbearers will be Andy Bradley, Randy Gray, Travis Riley, Jordan Ray, Coleman Gray, Matt Gray, Danny Bentley, and Brock Hightower.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Mason and Allen Jenkins.

Condolence calls will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Evangelistic Temple on Sunday, March 17, 2013, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of East Texas Homeplace, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX  75701.
