Lois Jeanette McCracken Engram Spicer

Funeral services for Lois Jeanette McCracken Engram Spicer, 91, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Larry Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.

Mrs. Spicer died Sunday in Palestine.  

She was born March 21, 1921 in Anderson County.

In the years of her life she was many things to many people. She was daughter to William Cody McCracken and Laura Franks McCracken, sister to Ouida Pearl McCracken Stringer, Jack Fagan McCracken, Joe Ferguson McCracken, Happie McCracken, Billie Joyce McCracken Wilmarth, wife to William Wilson Engram and later John Joseph Spicer. She was mother to Linda Engram Whitley and husband Kenneth Whitley of Palestine, Pamela Engram Caskey and husband Kenneth Dewayne Caskey of Houston, John Anthony Spicer and wife Susan of Tomball, Sharon Spicer Faubion of Corpus Christi and Suzanne Spicer Vides and husband Ted of Houston. She was grandmother to William Earl Whitley, Kristina Nicole Spicer Delgado and husband Brandon, Gene Scammell and wife Cheryl, Joey Scammell, Shane Scammell and wife Kari, Jammie Scammell, Helen Vides Cheasman and husband Jerry, Jennifer Vides Blake, Sharon P. Vides Khalil and husband Basil, John Vides and wife Monica, and 12 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and friends.

Pallbearers will be William Earl Whitley, Bobby Lee Wilmarth, Thomas Vaughn, Don Langston, Carl Rutledge and Mike Whitley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Scammell and James (Toodler) Rials.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
