Graveside services for Rubena Marjorie Vickery, 90, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Prince officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vickery passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Trucare Living Centers of Palestine.
She was born Oct. 2, 1922, in Palestine to Walter E. Mallard and Mollie King Mallard.
Mrs. Vickery had lived here most of her life and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Johnnie R. Vickery; her parents; brothers, Roy E. Mallard, Rufus R. Mallard, R.C. Mallard and Ralph W. Mallard; and sisters, Ruthie Mae Warren and Ruby Oleta Mallard; and a daughter, Sharon Faye Manning.
Mrs. Vickery is survived by a daughter, Anita J. St. Clair; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Manning, James Manning, Jared Womack, and Doug Bradley.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westwood United Methodist Church, 110 Ridgewood Drive, Palestine, Texas 75803.
