Georgia Estelle Mitchell

— Funeral services for Georgia E. Mitchell, 79, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with Dr. Brother Barry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchell (Meme) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.

She was born Jan. 4, 1933, in Whiteflat, Texas to “NED” and Ethel Calvert Martin.

Meme was preceded in death by her mother and father; six brothers; four sisters; and also by two daughters, Rhonda Darlene Boggs and Charlotte Denise Boggs.

Meme is survived by her faithful Christian husband of 25 years, Richard J Mitchell. They resided here in Palestine and they are members of the Evangelistic Temple. (Meme) retired as a dispatcher from Wal-Mart in 1992.

Her greatest past times were those spent with family and friends.  She loved her grandbabies dearly.

Meme is also survived by her sister, Faye McDonough and her husband Earl from Plainview. She is also survived by three sons, and two daughters, Chester and Dawn Boggs of Branson, Mo. and grandchildren Christopher Boggs, Michelle Boggs, Chelsea Ledgewood, Schyler Boggs, Bailey Boggs and two great-grandchildren Haylee Katrina Boggs and Addisyn Raine Ledgewood; son, William Lawayne Rose and wife Sonja from Palestine and grandchildren James, Amanda, Elizabeth Rose, and Jessica Rose and great-grandson Corbon Harold; son, Rodney Allen Rose and fiancée Janice Herring from Abilene, and “Annie”; daughter, Gia Rose from Elkhart, granddaughter Ashley Ray Heath and fiancee Kenny Starkey, and great-grandchildren Michael Blaine Heath Nash and Kynley Starkey and Allie McKae Starkey; daughter, Edie Rose from Elkhart, grandson Justin Allen Rose, Edward Nathaniel Rose, and granddaughter Stormie Grace McLeod.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
