Services for H.C. Wilson, 85, of Elkhart, were at 1 p.m. today at Family of Faith Church with the Rev. Mike Gary and the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial followed in Watson Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mr. Wilson died Monday in Elkhart.
He was born June 25, 1927 in Houston County to Henry Calvin Wilson and Jewell Walling.
Mr. Wilson served in the Army during World War II and was former county commissioner for 20 years. He was the owner of Wilson Culverts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sarah Fincher; brothers, Roy, Lonnie and Rafe Wilson; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dr. Betty S. Wilson; daughter, Brenda Henderson; sons, Larry Wilson, Roy Almand and Sam Almand; brother, J.V. Wilson, all of Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
