Three area volleyball teams play Tuesday
Staff Reports
Five Dogwood Circle volleyball teams have made the University Interscholastic League state playoffs and three teams will start postseason play Tuesday night.
Palestine, Elkhart and Oakwood all will be in action Tuesday night for bi-district play.
Palestine will play Lorena at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Leon High School in Jewett. The Ladycats finished third in District 20-3A.
Elkhart, the third-place team out of District 19-2A, will face Franklin at 6:30 p.m. in Centerville Tuesday.
Oakwood plays North Zulch Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Madisonville. The Lady Panthers were the runner up in District 21-A.
Cayuga and Grapeland both received first-round byes after they won their respective district titles. Both teams will play in the second round later this week.

Palestine and Westwood are heading west.
The University Interscholastic League’s 2010-2012 realignment, which was released Monday morning, moves the two Palestine school districts back to familiar ground as part of District 20-3A.
