A 38-year-old Palestine woman was killed as a result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials say 38-year-old Robbin Lamb died from injuries sustained in the wreck which occurred around 4:20 p.m. Thursday on CR 2107 off of FM 322.
A passenger in the deceased woman's vehicle, Courtney Lamb, 8, of Palestine, was taken to Palestine Regional Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services, but her injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
"She (Robbin Lamb) was traveling eastbound on (CR) 2107 and she approached a curve in the roadway to the left," a DPS spokesperson told the Herald-Press. "She drifted off to the right...and she overcorrected back to the left, traveling across the roadway and entering the north ditch."
Lamb's vehicle then "rolled over" before striking a utility pole, the DPS representative stated.
"It (Lamb's vehicle) came to rest upside down," the DPS representative added.
Both of the vehicle's occupants were wearing seatbelts and neither were ejected, according to the DPS.
DPS Trooper Jack Hallack is the investigating trooper.
