PALESTINE —
Palestine Independent School District trustees are expected to consider the district’s tax rate and budget for the 2012-13 school year during a meeting Monday.
Prior to the regular meeting, a public hearing on the PISD’s 2012-13 proposed budget and tax rate will be held, beginning at 7 p.m.
The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m.
Prior to both the public hearing and regular meeting, the board is slated to meet in closed session, starting at 6 p.m.
All of the meetings will be held at the PISD’s administrative offices’ board room at 1007 E. Park Ave.
Some of the other items on Monday’s agenda include:
• CONSIDER adoption of the 2012-13 District Improvement Plan.
• CONSIDER adoption of the 2012-13 Campus Improvement Plans.
• CONSIDER approval of honors classes for 2012-13.
• CONSIDER adoption of Early Reading Standards Plan for 2012-13.
• CONSIDER approval of Policy EIF (Local) Revision Academic Achievement: Graduation.
• HEAR report of 2011-12 Drug Testing Program.
• DISCUSS Current Drug Testing Policy - FNF (Local) Students Rights and Responsibilities: Interrogations and Searches.
• CONSIDER Responsible Use Guidelines Required by Policy CQ (Local) Technology resources for inclusion in handbooks.
• HEAR list of transfer students for 2012-13 school year.
• CONSIDER professional personnel.
• CONSIDER revision to superintendent’s contract per IRS insurance requirement.

PISD board OKs funds for technology, security
