PALESTINE —
Anderson County sheriff’s authorities are requesting the public’s help in solving a criminal mischief and theft case which occurred this week at Pine Dunes Golf Club off of Texas 155, approximately 6 miles south of Frankston.
Troy Black, chief deputy for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, said his agency was contacted at 6:38 a.m. Tuesday by a representative of the golf club which is located on Private Road 7019 off of Texas 155.
“When he (Anderson County sheriff’s deputy Charles Conner) got there, he found out that persons unknown had damaged some of the laser flags on some of the holes, causing approximately $1,000 in damage,” Black said. “They also found some of the golf carts had been moved around and one was damaged and two were missing.”
During his investigation, Black said Conner walked across the dam (at Lake Frankston) adjacent to the golf course and discovered the two missing golf carts which were undamaged.
“We have no suspects at this time,” the chief deputy stated.
The sheriff’s office is currently investigating the crime as criminal mischief $500 to $1,000 and theft of property $500 to $1,500.
Anyone providing information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the case may be eligible to receive a reward of up to $1,000 from Anderson County Crimestoppers.
Crimestoppers may be contacted by calling (903) 729-TIPS (8477).
