PALESTINE —
The Palestine Independent School District's Board of Trustees will consider a revised constitution for the high school's drill team during its regular monthly meeting scheduled for Monday.
The meeting is set to start at 7 p.m. in the PISD administrative offices' board room at 1007 E. Park Ave.
A closed session meeting will precede the regular meeting, beginning at 6 p.m. at the same location.
McKenze Sander, bronze medal winner at the Class 3A girls' powerlifting state championship meet, is among the students expected to be honored during Monday's meeting.
Yizel Aleman and Roberto Eguia will be recognized as Junior Rotarians for the Month, while Lizbeth Rivas and Travis Atkinson will be honored as Palestine High School's Students of the Month.
Members of the Palestine High School's band and choir, in addition to Palestine Middle School's band and choir, are also set to be recognized Monday.
Some of the other items on Monday's agenda include:
• CONSIDER Foreign Exchange Student Program guidelines.
• CONSIDER hiring of professional personnel.
• CONSIDER approval of renewals, non-renewals and terminations of contracts for professional personnel.
• CONSIDER board of trustees' self evaluation.
• CONSIDER nomination for TASB Media Honor Roll.
• CONSIDER adoption of TASA Testing Resolution.

Steps of Faith Dance Center production Saturday
Steps of Faith Dance Center will hold its annual production at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Palestine Civic Center.

A Palestine man remained in jail Monday on drug-related charges following a suspicious vehicle stop in Anderson County on Saturday.
According to Sheriff Greg Taylor, while on patrol in the early morning hours on Saturday, deputy Johnny Gorden saw a suspicious vehicle sitting on the side of U.S. 287 between Palestine and Elkhart. -
