PALESTINE —
Junior high and high school students and their parents are encouraged to attend a free pre-college information seminar Sunday.
The seminar will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at South Jackson Church of Christ, located at 1612 S. Jackson St. in Palestine.
“If you are a student planning to go to college, you cannot afford to wait until your last year of high school to start planning how your college will be paid for. There are too many variables to be considered by both parents and students,” event organizer Pat Davis said. “The medical field is rapidly changing and growing and you will need a college education for these types of jobs. How will you pay for college? What kind of study skills will you need to be successful in college?”
An admissions counselor and college preparatory adviser from Southwestern Christian College will offer information during the seminar. A number of educators and business professionals also will be on hand.
Refreshments will be served.
