TSR adds extra Polar Express runs
The Texas State Railroad announced this week that it has added more runs of the popular Polar Express due to high demand.
The railroad also has added an extra rail car for all runs of the holiday train ride.
“A 3:45 p.m. train ride is being added to Saturdays on December 5th, 12th, and 19th because all Saturdays were previously sold out,” Lori Pennington, Texas State Railroad marketing manager, said Monday.
“We have made some very important decisions to add more passenger cars and more rides to fulfill the demand. Another passenger car that holds approximately 90 additional people has been added to each ride.”
Inspired by the Warner Bros. film and award-winning book by Chris Van Allsburg, The Polar Express comes to life as families take a memorable ride to the North Pole. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas as they sip hot cocoa and read along with the story while the train makes a round-trip journey. The ride includes meeting Santa, caroling and, for those children who believe, a special gift.
Pennington encouraged those who plan to ride The Polar Express to reserve their tickets early.
“Tickets sales for The Polar Express Train Ride at the Texas State Railroad are going great this year,” she said. “Book early before dates begin to fill up.”
As of Monday afternoon, 26,141 tickets had been sold, according to Pennington.
For reservations, go to www.TexasStateRR.com or call 1-888-987-2461.
