Palestine ISD to meet Monday
An update on construction projects is expected to be presented during Monday's meeting of the Palestine Independent School District's Board of Trustees.
The regular meeting is set to begin at 7 p.m. in the Sam Houston Board Room at 1000 E. Lamar St.
The construction update is scheduled to be given near the beginning of the meeting.
Last May, PISD voters overwhelmingly approved a $64 million bond election calling for improvements to all the district's campuses.
Also on Monday, Ashley Conner and Clay Curley will be honored as Palestine High School Students of the Month, while Sulema Estrada and Taran Gaston will be recognized as Junior Rotarians of the Month.
PHS theatre students will also be recognized during Monday's meeting.
In other business Monday, the board is expected to:
• CONSIDER approval of 2009-10 Textbook Committees.
• CONSIDER approval of credit by exam for December administration.
• CONSIDER request for permission to hold December 2009, January 2010 and March 2010 board meetings on second Monday of the month.
• CONSIDER VoIP phone proposal information.
