Parade winners announced
With its red, white and blue patriotic look, the Citizens of the Constitution float was named the overall winner of the WonderFall OktoberFest Parade Saturday, winning a $300 prize.
Here is a list of parade winners by category:
• Organization — Sacred Heart Catholic Church, first; Elkhart High School Band, second; Girl Scouts of North East Texas, third.
• Individual — Sharon Fisher, first; Phillip Morris, second; Bob Slayden, third.
• Float — Rotary Club of Palestine, first; Palestine YMCA, second; Palestine High School cheerleaders, third.

Free computer classes for job seekers
Free classes to improve computer skills for job seekers will be held in Palestine in March and April. The classes are sponsored by the Palestine Public Library, Workforce Solutions East Texas and Workco Staffing.
