Bit and Spur Show set for November
Dust off your hats, shine your boots and strap on your spurs for the Second Annual Houston County Western Antique Bit and Spur Show, which will be held Nov. 14 and 15 at Salmon Lake Park in Grapeland.
The buy, sell or trade event will start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at the park where vendors will be selling old west gear.
“It’s not just bits and spurs, there also will be jewelry, knives and guns,” said Madre Horn, one of the event’s organizers.
“We will have about 30 vendors coming.”
The show will crank up again at 8 a.m. with Sunday morning church services by Bob Thompson.
“It will be a laid back, real country show,” Horn said.
Horn encouraged people to come out and view western gear, made up of antiques and some new items. She said people can do more than just look, they also have the chance to purchase unique treasures from days long forgotten.
Admission to the show is free.
Organziers for the event are Billy and Madre Horn, Jack and Ann Spence and Bob and Mable Thompson.
For more information about the vendors or to set up as a vendor call Horn at 936-687-4905.
