PALESTINE —
The Palestine Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club will address top health and social issues including Alzheimer’s disease, coronary artery disease and bullying during its annual Community Health Awareness Program.
The free program will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 at Antioch Baptist Church Community Center, 907 E. Murchison St.
“I would encourage the community to attend this program because we, our families or someone we know are facing some physical or mental challenge in life,” PNBPWC spokeswoman Dyna Tutt said. “The more armed we are with knowledge, the better we can cope with life itself and everyday changes.
“Most of us know someone who has been bullied, had a heart attack, that have high blood pressure or Alzheimer’s,” she added. “It takes families and communities united together to conquer diseases.”
Northside Primary School Principal Barbara Dutton will give the presentation on “Bullying.”
Tutt, M.S., R.N., C.C.R.N. and instructor at The University of Texas at Tyler in Palestine, will discuss “Coronary Heart Disease.”
Cindy James, M.S.N., R.N., and instructor at The University of Texas at Tyler in Palestine, will speak on the “Top 10 Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease.”
