Hibbard named 2012 Realtor of the Year

PALESTINE — For real estate agent Willie Hibbard, helping people find that “perfect” place is what it’s all about.

Hibbard was named the 2012 Palestine Board of Realtors’ Realtor of the Year recently, nominated by his peers.

“I love helping people find that right place — when  you go to the closing table and they are so happy, or I help them find that perfect place of land that they are so excited they are ready to go mow it or go deer hunting,” Hibbard said during an interview with the Herald-Press.

Hibbard has been a realtor for the past six years. He’s been named the Best Realtor from the Palestine Herald-Press Readers’ Choice in 2008, 2010 and 2011.

He opened his own company, Hibbard Real Estate in October 2011 in Palestine.

“This was my dream to have my own business and I’m so happy I’ve been able to do it,” Hibbard said. “I have a good relationship with the other realtors, which is important.”

A 1988 graduate of Oakwood High School, Hibbard worked in the timber business for about 15 years before becoming a realtor. That experience in the timber business has benefited his land-selling skills these days.

“I love selling land and am very knowledgeable about it, even though the majority of my business is residential,” Hibbard said.

Hibbard and his wife of 18 years, Deana, have two daughters, Kortni, 17, and Kaegan, 11, who attend school in Buffalo.

“I love to hunt and fish and I spend a lot of time in my kids’ youth organizations,” Hibbard said.

He is the Buffalo Band Booster president and an adult leader for Buffalo 4-H, working with the kids’ poultry and swine projects.

Hibbard Real Estate is located at 301 E. Palestine Ave. Visit online at www.palestinehomeandland.com or www.facebook.com/palestinehomeandland. For more information, call the office at 903-729-1055.
