PALESTINE —
In celebration of the start of spring and St. Patrick’s Day, the folks at Jamie’s Therapeutic Touch Day Spa are helping spa-goers relax throughout the month of March with featured Shamrock Massages and “green” beer treatments.
The beer spa treatment, begins with soaking in a tub filled with a special brew for 20 minutes, followed by a beer foot soak and a full body massage that begins with the Citrus exfoliating “green” beer body scrub.
“Besides being a thirst-quencher, the enzymes in beer are known for their gentle surface exfoliation, helping rid the skin’s surface of dead cells,” spa owner Jamie Pettiette Rhone said. “The hops used in making beer have a powerful antibiotic effect which when bathed in helps to reduce inflammation.”
The Sham”rock” Massage, combines a rhythmic Swedish technique using hot stones to relax the body with a “green” tea scalp massage.
Other “green” spa services being offered throughout the month of March include: Sham“rock” hot stone massages, beer wraps, “Green with Envy” facials, beer enzyme facials, peppermint “Patty” foot soaks, green beer pedicures with a green mask and “Luck of the Irish” foot massages, and green beer scalp treatments.
Jamie’s recently welcomed two new massage therapists to its staff, Amanda Alley and Allisen Ewing. Spa staff are also currently being trained in permanent makeup procedures.
