Palestine ISD board to meet Monday

PALESTINE — The Palestine Independent School District’s Board of Trustees is set to consider the district’s technology plan for the upcoming school year during Monday’s regularly-scheduled meeting.

The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. in the PISD’s administrative offices’ board room at 1007 E. Park Ave.

The regular meeting will precede a closed session of the board set to start at 6 p.m. at the same location.

During the meeting, Jessica Guzman and Matt LaRue will be recognized as Palestine High School’s Students of the Month, while Kelondria Jackson and Christian Castillo are scheduled to be honored as “Junior Rotarians” for the Month.

Palestine High School one-act play members will also be recognized during Monday’s meeting, while regional UIL academic qualifiers are also set to be honored.

Some of the other items included on Monday’s agenda include:

•  CONSIDER approval of June 2012 Administration of Credit by Exam.

•  CONSIDER approval to submit application for federal grants for 2012-13.

•  CONSIDER hiring professional personnel.

•  CONSIDER renewals of contracts for professional personnel.

•  CONSIDER board of trustees’ self evaluation.

•  CONSIDER amended and restated Interlocal Agreement for Texas Association of School Boards’ Supplemental Employee Benefits Program.

•  CONSIDER food service contract for 2012-13 school year.

•  CONSIDER minutes of meetings held on April 16, 2012 and April 30, 2012.

•  CONSIDER April 2012 bills.

•  CONSIDER financial, monthly investment and tax collection reports.

•  CONSIDER budget amendments.

•  CONSIDER donations.
