Peterson’s ‘all day’ Foundation helps feed East Texans

PALESTINE — Minnesota Vikings running back and Palestine native Adrian Peterson’s “all day” Foundation distributed 300 holiday food boxes to Palestine families in need of assistance on Friday.

The families were pre-qualified and received vouchers to pick up their holiday food box during a distribution event at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Palestine.

“I’m thankful to live in a country that after 149 years still sees the need to give thanks to God for his gracious and sufficient provision,” Peterson said in a news release. “I am thankful that God has allowed the Adrian Peterson ‘all day’ Foundation to be that unexpected vessel, arriving for 300 families, and providing for their need this Thanksgiving holiday.”

This year marks the third year that Peterson’s “all day” foundation has provided holiday food boxes during the Thanksgiving holiday season. For the second year, a local organization that distributes food every other Thursday in Palestine worked with the foundation to pre-qualify families to receive the holiday food box vouchers.

“There will always be things that we all can complain about, but there will also be much to be thankful for,” said Nelson Peterson, president of Adrian Peterson’s ‘all day’ Foundation. “In our secular society, giving thanks to God during our annual Thanksgiving holiday is sometimes overlooked, leaving only the feasting. I am thankful that God continues to bless Adrian and I’m thankful that Adrian, once again, is sharing his blessing with his hometown.”

Reportedly, Peterson was in Palestine to help with the distribution effort on behalf of his foundation.

The “all day” foundation supports organizations such as Boys and Girls Club, Special Olympics and other youth enrichment programs. The foundation’s goal is to serve others every day, all day, with the same tenacity and commitment that Peterson displays on the field, a news release said.
