Elkhart holding fall cleanup day Saturday

ELKHART — The City of Elkhart will be holding its fall cleanup day Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 Only items from residents of Elkhart will be accepted with a water bill to verify residency. Items that will not be accepted include paint, chemicals, tires or any freon related appliances.

In conjunction with the cleanup day, the city will be holding an electronic recycling event. This event is open to any resident from surrounding counties wanting to dispose of electronic waste. Items accepted are anything that is cord or battery powered, such as, computer hard drives or monitors, small appliances (toasters, coffee pots, blenders), televisions, phones, etc.

“We will not be able to accept any freon related appliances or gas related equipment,” a press release stated.
