Cartmell Fishing Days, hamburger fund-raiser set

PALESTINE — Cartmell Home for Aged will celebrate National Nursing Home Week by hosting its annual Resident Fishing Event and Hamburger Fundraiser. Cartmell Residents will fish on Wednesday and Thursday, May 16-17.

A Hamburger Fundraiser will be held on Thursday, May 17th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help pay for the event. For only $5, you receive a hamburger with all the fixin’s, chips, cookie, and soft drink. A convenient drive thru pickup will be set up at Cartmell Home and phone in orders are highly encouraged. Please call (903)727-8500 to place your order.

Steps of Faith Dance Center will hold its annual production at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Palestine Civic Center.
“We’re going to take you to a land far away and tell you the ‘real’ story of some of your favorite fairy tale characters,” Steps of Faith Dance Center owner Jennifer Ballew said. “The production is full of lively fun music, a reminiscing ol’ Granny, and of course the incredible dancing of several talented students.”
