Police arrest two in robbery, seek third suspect

PALESTINE — Palestine police have arrested a pair of 17-year-old Palestine men and are seeking another suspect in the weekend robbery of a local convenience store.

Local authorities say they arrested John Nicholas Hicks, 17, Wednesday and Anthony Mrdjenovich, 17, today for their alleged involvement in the early Sunday morning shooting of 62-year-old Fred Robinson at Mr. D’s convenience store at 3209 W. Oak St.

Palestine Police Sgt. James Muniz, meanwhile, said his agency has an aggravated robbery warrant for the arrest of a third suspect, 18-year-old Jhamerrick Milton of Palestine .

Anyone with information regarding Milton’s whereabouts is urged to call Anderson County Crimestoppers at 903-729-TIPS (8477) or the Palestine Police Department at 903-729-2254.

Anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons involved in the robbery may be eligible to receive a reward of up to $1,000 from Crimestoppers.

Robinson, a store clerk who was shot in the face, is expected to survive the shooting, police have said.
