PALESTINE —
The Palestine YMCA will offer a Cinco de Mayo workout party on Saturday — offering a BodyPump™ and Zumba class for all.
“We try to do something like this every quarter. They are both specialty classes that everybody loves,” Palestine YMCA Program Director Sharyn Hightower said. “We will use this event to launch the new music for the BodyPump™ class, and Zumba is a great dance workout for those who haven’t tried it yet.”
For Saturday only, the classes are only $5 each, with all proceeds going to the YMCA scholarship fund to help local families who can’t afford memberships.
The weight-based BodyPump™ class starts at 9 a.m. with the Zumba class to follow at 10 a.m. You do not have to be a YMCA member to participate.
“It’s just a lot of fun. Come work out, meet new people and at the same time it’s for a good cause because it helps our community too,” Hightower said.
The classes are open to all fitness levels.
Granola bars and other refreshments will be available.
