PALESTINE —
The City of Palestine and the Palestine Junior Service League are inviting the community to the grand opening of the Reagan Park Splashpark at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Both organizations are hosting the official opening celebration that will include a live deejay, a balloon release, refreshments and door prizes.
“This project has been over two years in the making,” City of Palestine Community Services Director Roy Crouch said. “Reagan Park is a major recreational area for the families in our community. We are proud to complete the Splashpark. It is a unique element to this park and can be enjoyed for years to come.”
The Reagan Park Splashpark is a water-enhanced playground that emphasizes a modern railroad theme. The sprayground features two state-of-the-art spray pads with an elaborate series of sprinklers, fountains and water jets.
The completion of the Reagan Park Sprayground is the first of multiple projects that the parks and recreation department is currently working on. Other projects scheduled include the new playground equipment at Willie Myers Park and the disc golf course at Greens Park.
