Don Jose’s has changed its name to Don Mario’s Mexican Cuisine in honor of longtime general manager Mario Garcia, who is now part-owner of the company.
“Don Mario’s Mexican Cuisine will become our trade name to all our restaurants, as we continue to envision our growth by opening one restaurant every one or two years. In view of this, our original restaurant known to all in Palestine for over 18 years, Don Jose’s Mexican Restaurant, located at 1103 E.P alestine Ave., will now be changed to Don Mario’s Mexican Cuisine,” Edgar Mercado of Aiden’s Kitchen L.L.C., a subsdiary of Emmer Inc., said in a news release about Don Jose’s. “I am proud to announce that Mario, who had been the general manager of that restaurant for several years, is now part owner of this company. He will oversee the operations for both and future locations. His new title is CEO-Culinary. His added function is to continue improving our menu for better flavors.”
After a year of preparation, a second location for Don Mario’s Mexican Cuisine will open at 5900 West I-20 in Arlington.
“Thank you all from bottom of our hearts. Without you, we will not exist and we are deeply humbled by your patronage,” Mercado said in the news release.
Other proposed future locations include Addison, Plano, Richardson and Irving.
“Please be aware that there are no changes as to the operation of the business. The staff and menu that you all enjoyed for several years now will be the same, if not better,” Mercado said in the news release. “Aiden’s Kitchen L.L.C., a subsidiary of Emmer Inc., will continue to be the corporation doing business as Don Mario’s Mexican Cuisine.”
