JACKSONVILLE —
The status of Lon Morris College, the oldest private two-year college in Texas, is slated to be released today by Bridge Point Consulting Company, hired in early May by the Board of Trustees to create a restructuring plan for the institution.
Dawn Ragan, the chief restructuring officer with Bridge Point Consulting Company, held a closed meeting with Lon Morris College employees on Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting lasted an hour and a half, but Ragan declined to comment and said a press release would be sent out to media after it was approved by an attorney.
This was the first status update the employees received since they were given a furlough notice in late May.
The future of the college has been in question after delayed payrolls were reported in April 2011. LMC officials said the school was experiencing cash-flow problems after enrollment reached an all-time high of 1,000 students in Fall 2010.
